You already know that smoking is bad for your health, causing lung cancer and other health issues. You also know that smoking causes wrinkling and dehydration of the skin, as well as a dull complexion. In a new study published in the November issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, smoking cigarettesis now linked to comedonal postadolescent acne (CPAA), a type of acne that is most common in adult females. The study determined that nearly 73 percent of the adult women with CPAA who participated were smokers. The study states that "CPAA appears as the most frequent clinical form of postadolescent acne and seems to be strictly correlated with cigarette smoking.”
So if you are a smoker and suffer from acne, here is another reason for you to quit smoking. Call Pristine Laser Center at 407-494-0404 for a consultation. Comments are closed.
