Tattoo Removal Creams
You have probably seen informercials and advertisements for "tattoo removal creams". You may have wondered if they actually work or not? Wouldn't it be great if you could apply a cream, use a little machine and fade your tattoo?
While that would be great, most everyone who has tried these tattoo removal creams will tell you that it does NOT work.
We have so many people who come to us who have tried the creams and tell us that they tried that product and it was absolutely a waste of time and money. These creams claim to get rid of the ink from the tattoo. But as we have written before, anything that you apply to your skin only goes to the top layer of your skin, the epidermis. The ink from tattoo are not in the top layer, otherwise, the tattoo would go away after you wash your skin so many times. The ink is deeper inside. The only way you can deliver a cream to the area is if you actually got rid of the epidermis and went into the dermis.
Most of us know what happens when you strip the skin of the epidermis: It hurts! You reach the dermis which has blood vessels and nerves. Ever cut yourself or get a paper-cut? If there was bleeding, you went through the epidermis and reached the dermis. If you didn't bleed, you only went epidermis-deep. So how can a cream go through the epidermis to reach the dermis and then get rid of the ink there?! That is why wrecking balm does NOT work. In fact, it can lead to discoloration and scarring. And once the skin is discolored or scarred, nothing can be done for it.
So what about the laser? Well, to put it in simple terms the laser penetrates the epidermis and goes to the dermis where the ink is sitting and it "blasts" the ink into smaller pieces. It doesn't cut or damage the epidermis. Contrary to what you may have heard about laser tattoo removal, the laser actually doesn't cause any bleeding. It is a bit uncomfortable. Some patients describe it as a feeling of being zapped with a rubber-band. But we cool the skin, so it reduces the discomfort.
Tattoo removal with FDA approved lasers is quite effective at removing tattoos. Done by a licensed medical professional, laser tattoo removal is safe and has minimal if any side effects.
Why waste your time and money with things that won't get rid of your tattoo? Laser tattoo removal is your best option.
